These glasses are medical devices:

They allow a treatment prescribed by an ophthalmologist to be delivered.

The silicone skirt is removable, so it can be taken off outside treatment periods.

• Without its skirt, the frame is a standard frame.
• With the skirt:
  
• It protects the eyes from external irritants.
• Keeps the tear film sufficiently moist.
• The silicone skirt:
  
• Is well tolerated by the skin.
• Offers very good resistance to chemical attack from medical treatments.
  

They have a silicone surround that keeps out draughts and a slot for a blotter pad to apply the treatment.

For the optician:

• A hydrophobic lens coating is essential.
• Adjust the skirt-to-face distance by heating (frame warmer).
