Captain Vision
Captain Vision lenses are defocus lenses designed to slow down myopia.
Defocusing
Highly aspheric, Captain Vision maintains perfect correction in central vision and rapidly increases the hyperopic effect of the lens in peripheral vision.
Its special geometry creates an annular view, like a pinhole camera.
Three defocusing options are available:
- The Captain Vision 350 has a defocus of +3.50D, making it ideal for younger children (up to 10 years old).
- Captain Vision 250 has a defocus of +2.50D and is suitable for children aged 10 to 12.
- Captain Vision 150 has a defocus of +1.50D and is suitable for children over 12 years old.
Cross-section view
The defocusing of the lens is visible in cross-section. Captain Vision will be thinner at the edge than a traditional single vision lens.

Defocus preview

Visualization
Visually, defocusing is present. The pinhole effect is also noticeable.

Conclusion
According to a study1 by Guangzhou Aier Eye Hospital, aspheric defocus lenses with central vision simulating a pinhole aperture have better results in slowing myopia than multi-segment defocus lenses.
Captain Vision lenses are therefore a reliable, high-quality solution for slowing the progression of myopia in young wearers.
